[Class 38 (ii).] In a television receiver of the kind in which the picture current' signals are impressed upon a positive column luminous tube 2, the latter is arranged to form one electrode of a condenser by which the tube is capacitatively coupled to, and additionally excited by, a high frequency circuit 9. A metal plate 6, which may be in the form of a mirror for providing a more uniform lighting intensity for the image surface, constitutes the other electrode of the condenser.
