Abstract
387,240. Television receivers. TELEFUNKEN GES. FR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin July 18, 1932, No. 20291. Convention date, July 18, 1931. [Class 40 (iii).] In a cathode-ray receiver, a switch 11 is so arranged that either the cathode ray may be modulated in intensity and deflected by constant frequency potentials applied to the condenser plates 5, 6, or the cathode ray may be of constant intensity and deflected by potentials modulated in frequency by the picture signals so that either type of signal may be received. In the position shown, received signals applied at 10 control the intensity of the cathode rays and the generators 12, 13 (preferably comprising a neon lamp in parallel with a condenser) emit a constant frequency. In the lower position of the switch, the battery 9 biases the Wehnelt cylinder 3 and a cathode ray of constant intensity is emitted, while the frequencies of the generators 12, 13 are controlled by the signals applied at 10.
