Abstract

655,760. Television. COLE, Ltd., E. K., and MARTIN, A. W. Nov. 16, 1948, No. 29695. [Class 40 (iii)] In a television receiver in which the video amplifier V1 supplies video signals from its anode circuit to the modulating grid of a cathode-ray picture reproducing tube T and in which synchronizing signals are derived from the video signals, in lead B, developed across a resistance in the cathode circuit of V1, video signals from the cathode circuit of V1 are also supplied, via C2, to the cathode of the tube T. With this arrangement the reduction in the signal developed at the anode of V due to the presence of the cathode load is compensated by the additional cathode modulation of the Tube T. If increased modulation of the cathode-ray beam is not required the anode load of V1 may be reduced, thus giving an improvement in the video characteristics of the circuit.
