Abstract
491,887. Cathode - ray tubes; photoelectric cells. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., and JONES, V. A. March 12, 1937, No. 7300. [Class 39 (i)] A mosaic screen 7 is mounted on a plate 6 of photo-conductive material, such as selenium, which in its turn is mounted on a transparent conducting layer 5. An electron image of a scene to be televized is formed on the screen 7, either by making the screen of photo-electric material and projecting the optical image directly on to, or by focusing an image formed on a separate photo-electric screen on to, the mosaic. The side of the plate 6 opposite to the screen 7 is then scanned by a light spot, thus furnishing signal currents to the layer 5.
