Abstract

386,424. Ships' window frames ; armrests. BURNSIDE, G. B., 104, Beechwood Drive, Broomhill, Glasgow. Dec. 18, 1931, No. 35069. [Class 20 (iii).] The meeting faces of a ships' sliding window 4 and its frame 2 are so shaped by bevelling &c. as to make a weather-tight contact when closed, the metal adjacent to the face being slit as at 6 to provide a yielding contact. Figs. 1 and 3 show vertical sections through the lintel and sill respectively, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through one side. At the sides, the frame is made adjustable by setscrews 5 crossing the slotted part 6. Lubricant is housed in recesses at the edges of the sliding surfaces. An arm-rest 11 is provided on the upper sash rail.
