Abstract

1,223,893. Window sashes; glazing. K. I. LONNBORG. 28 June, 1968 [5 Jan., 1968], No. 31111 /68. Headings E1J and E1R.. - . A window sash comprises a main part 2 with a rubber &c glazing frame secured thereto, the glazing frame being formed of mitred strips 5 on three sides and strip 10 Fig. 3 at the top, and welded at the comers to. form a closed frame, each strip having a flat face in contact with an inner flat face of the main part, and having on its inner face grooves 5a or 10a to receive the edges of the panes, and on the flat surface a groove 5c to receive a resilient fixing strip 6 projecting from the flat face of the main part. The strip 6 may be integral with the main part or be secured in the groove 16 or moveable in such groove. The mouths of the grooves 5a and 5c are narrower than the bases of the grooves but the grooves 10a are rectangular but all grooves 5a, 5c and 10a have inwardly projecting tips 5b, 10b so as to gripp their inserts 9. The upper rail of the sash is in two parts 2, 3, Fig. 3, secured together at the ends by a bolt or screw 4 passing through a bore in the part 3 and screwing into an insert secured in bore in the part 2, so that the part 3 may be removed together with the glazing strip 10 for cleaning the interior of the panes. A roller blind (13 Fig. 3) with guide 14 may be accommodated under the part 2c.
