Abstract

386,367. Sanitary bins; fastenings. MAGGS, A. E., 7, Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26729. [Class. 26.] In order to prevent unauthorized inspectionof or interference with the contents of bins, the inlet opening 10, Fig. 3, is inset from the outersurface of the bin and is normally closed by a movable flap 12. In the form shown, the inlet opening is of elongated shape and the flap closes under gravity or spring action and is disposed at the inner end of an upwardlyinclined tubular member 11, which is of a cross-sectional shape similar to the shape of the opening 10. The bin is of triangular shape with rounded corners, and has a permanently closed top 2 and a hinged bottom 3 which is secured in the closed position by the device shown in Fig. 4. This comprises links 4, 5 pivoted together at a point which moves in a slot 6 in a member 6a secured to the bin ; the upper link is pivoted to a finger-piece 7 which when moved so that a catch 7a thereon may engage a key-operated bolt in a lock-case 9, causes the link 5 to engage a projection 8 on the member 3.
