Abstract
384,820. Powdered - fuel engines. GONIN, L. S., 3636, Decarie Boulevard, Montreal, Canada. Dec. 28, 1931, No. 35805. [Class 7 (ii).] Air is drawn by engine suction through powdered coal in a chamber 30, the air entering at the bottom past an adjustable v a l v e 33. The fuel is fed by a worm conveyer 39 from a hopper 36. To agitate the fuel at starting a hand pump may be used to blow air into the coal in the chamber 30. Extra air is admitted to the cylinder past the adjustable valve 62. Two sparkplugs 53 are used to ignite the mixture.
