Generating combustion products under pressure.-In an explosion turbine in which coal dust is used as fuel, ignition is facilitated by injecting liquid fuel into the explosion chamber*with the coal dust. The fuel supply apparatus. for the explosion chamber v comprises a valve body a and a valve b which is opened periodically when oil under pressure is supplied through a pipe q to the back of a piston e. Air under pressure is supplied by a connection r ; coal dust is supplied from a hopper t through a connection s when the cam-operated slide valve h is opened, and igniting oil is fed through the channel n in the valve b. Discs c<1> are arranged to spread the coal dust in the air current, and the end of the oil channel n is provided with a valve d, and spraying channels d<2>. The cam m which opens the coal dust valve h may be adjusted by a governor. A modification of this valve, in which the coal dust container is isolated from the charging valve a, b, is referred to. In the arrangement shown, the dust hopper t is placed under the pressure of the charging air by a pipe connection t<1>. The oil pump o is cam operated, and an oil-actuated scavenging air valve x and an igniter y are provided.
