BROHLTHAL, Burgbrohl, POHL, H., Bad Tonnistein, near Burgbrohl, Coblenz, and SCHACK, A., Wilhelm-Marxhaus, Dusseldorf, both in Germany. Sept. 2, 1931, No. 24671. [Class 51 (i).] In multi-zone reversible regenerators having checkerwork with thick walls a in the hotter zones and thinner walls b with narrow passages in the cooler zones the passages in the hotter zones, where the temperature is from 1600‹ C. to 800‹ C., are reduced so that the free crosssectional area is not greater than 40 per cent of the total cross-sectional area of the regenerator.
