Abstract

383,492. Detachable wheels. MICHELIN ET CIE, Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dome, France. Feb. 19, 1932, No. 5059. Convention date, March 16, 1931. [Class 144 (i).] An adaptor ring 1 is fitted to the outer end of the permanent hub A, of the type with which a single nut is usually employed for securing the detachable wheel B, so as to enable a series of bolts 6, Fig. 1, or a smallerdiameter nut 27, Fig. 8, to be used. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the ring 1 is formed with a flange 2 in which the bolts 6 are fixed, the bolts being passed through a flange on the clamping ring 7. In the form shown in Fig. 8, the outer end of the adaptor 1 is threaded (externally or internally) to receive a central fastening member 27 adapted to engage the outer end of the clamping ring 7.
