Abstract
383,358. Tip-up seats. AUSTIN, SIR H., Lickey Grange, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. Sept. 25, 1931, Nos. 26749 and 33484. [Class 52 (ii).] In a set of tip-up seats means are provided whereby each arm, which is common to two seats, is positively moved down by the downward movement of either seat if said arm is not already down, but moves up only when both seats are moved up or when one is moved up while the other is already in its upward position. Such an arrangement is shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the seat B, pivoted at a<3> and weighted at b<4>, being connected to the arm C, pivoted at a <2> and weighted at F, by a telescopic link E. Modifications are described in which the seat back is pivoted, at its lower end, to the seat proper, and in which the seat back is connected to the seat standards by pivoted links.
