Abstract
382,938. Gasturbines. HOLZWARTH, H., 7, Goethestrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Aug. 24, 1932, No. 23715. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1931. [Class 110 (iii).] Relates to the dilution of a mixture of air and powdered carbon for use in the explosion chamber of a gas turbine. The mixture, previously repeatedly diluted, is introduced by a channel 2 into a basket-like member 6 in which a vortex is maintained by air fed to an outer chamber 5 by a pipe 4. The inlet valve 9 of the explosion chamber 11 is opened by a timed, fluid-actuated piston 13. The air vortex in the chamber 7 is maintained after the supply of mixture by the channel 2 has been cut off and serves to clear the parts of deposits.
