[Class 110 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] In a gas turbine plant for aircraft, formation of ice in the compressor is prevented by the abstraction of a small quantity, up to 2 per cent. of the burning mixture beyond the combustion chambers and injecting it into the compressor inlet. When there is an annular series, of combustion chambers, an abstraction is made from each and the pipes conveying the gases to the compressor inlet are connected by a ring pipe which equalizes the pressures. The abstraction is controlled by normally closed valves.
