Abstract

382,881. Valve circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Strand, London.-(Assignees of Roberts, W. van B. ; 155, Hodge Road, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A.) April 25, 1932, No. 11877. Convention date, April 24, 1931. [Class 40 (v).] A super-regenerative receiver specially designed for compactness and portability comprises a valve 1 having a tapped plate inductance 17 coupled to a tapped input inductance 5, and a low frequency oscillation circuit consisting of a choke 8 with fixed shunt condenser 12 and condenser 14. The grid coil 5 is tuned by a variable condenser 10 with a series variable resistance 11. The relation between feedback and damping is periodically varied by the low frequency oscillations in the circuit 8, 12, 14 and anode source B. The valve is designed to work with 3 volts heating voltage and 4¢ volts anode supply and the whole receiver may be housed in a small cigar box. The circuit comprising inductance 5 acts as an aerial.
