Abstract

382,260. Switch contacts. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) July 25, 1932, No. 20965. Convention date, July 24, 1931. [Class 38 (v).] A movable bridging contact-member comprises an insulating member s having a helical spring f passed through it and contact pieces k<1>, k<2> screwed into the ends of the spring. Movement of the member s in a direction at right-angles to the spring caused resilient engagement of the contacts k<1>, k<2> with fixed contacts k<3>, k<4>. The bore in the member s is made conical at the ends to avoid localized bending of the spring and an insulating washer is provided for preventing axial displacement of the spring. Modifications are described in which a pluralityof springs are mounted on one contact carrying member, to engage a plurality of pairs of fixed contacts.
