Abstract

382,088. Controlling motor vehicles. WIEHMAYER, T., 7, Wilhelmsh÷henstrasse, Starnberg, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Nov. 12, 1931, No. 31359. [Class 79 (v).] The main clutch 11, 16 of an automobile is normally disengaged by a strong adjustable metallic, pneumatic, or other spring 4 acting on a lever 3 engaging loosely with the clutch collar 10, against which bears the ordinary relatively-weak clutch spring 5, and is engaged by pedal pressure. The pedal 12 is pivoted upon the clutch lever 2 and carries a spring-biased pawl-extension 13 which may be engaged with a stop 15 on the framing when the pedal is fully depressed, at which time the pressure of the spring 4 is fully removed from the collar 10 and the clutch is held in engagement by its spring 5.
