Abstract

500,598. Fluid actuated valves. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Oct. 1, 1937, No. 26584. Convention date, Oct. 7. 1936. [Class 135] [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXI] A self - lapping valve, for controlling a clutch and brake in a change-speed gear, provides a reaction against the operator proportional to the resistance encountered. Pressure by operator on a button 380 acts through a spring 373 on a floating-lever 375, one end of which closes a vent 377, whilst the other opens a valve 376, supplying pressure-air from an inlet 379 to the outlet 382. Pressure in the outlet-chamber reacts back on the control-button 380 by means of a diaphragm 375 <1>
