Abstract
381,588. Vaporizers. HEADEN, L. A., 2212, East 40th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. July 8, 1931, No. 19646. [Class 7 (iii).] An induction manifold, heated by a surrounding exhaust jacket 4, has helically arranged staggered baffles 13, which whirl the mixture in its passage from a central port 7 to ports 6 leading to the cylinders. The baffles are, preferably, tapered and set at an angle of 15‹ to the direction of flow of the mixture. A detachable cover 11 and a chamber, integral with the jacket 4, for heating the fuel before it reaches the carburetter may also be provided.
