Abstract
381,013. Electric battery lamps. WAHL, W., 24, Lippstõderstrasse, Dortmund, Germany. Dec. 7, 1931, No. 33901. [Class 39 (ii).] Miners battery lamps are provided with a readily interchangeable fuse or cut-out comprising a movable member x, Figs. 1 and 2, mounted upon a cap l which is pressed upwardly by a helical spring f and holds a metal plate c on the upper surface of the member x in contact with the central contact of the lamp bulb, the arrangement being such that, on the breakage of either the lamp bulb g or the protecting-bell k the spring f forces the member x upwardly, so that the contact plate c bears upon the lamp socket h to short circuit the lamp and blow the fuse wire a. The fuse wire a is connected between the upper contact plate c and a lower contact plate b, and is located within an aperture in an insulating member d to which the plates b, c are screwed. The lamp is held within its socket h by the pressure of a spring i disposed between the bell k and bulb g. The accumulator terminals are connected respectively to a central stud e in contact with the spring f, and the lamp socket h.
