380,644. Casting-machines. ROSEN. BERGER, F., 2, K÷nigstrasse, Zuffenhausen, Wurtemberg, Germany. Nov. 16, 1931, No. 31724. [Class 83 (i).] Moulds ; clamping and guiding moulds.-A machine for casting metals &c. under pressure having die parts influenced by springs 11, 25, Fig. 4, and guided in a casing 5, 18 with a pouring opening 42, Fig. 2, is arranged vertically but inclined in the pouring direction. After the metal poured has solidified a crosshead 10 is moved down by a treadle-operated eccentric 15 and, when it engages a rod 8, Fig. 4, forces rams 7 to sever the runners 38, press down rams 20 and cores 21 against the action of the spring 25, and compress the castings. The lower casing 18 is then moved down, by a hand-lever and linkwork 31, 32, the rams 20 being arrested, when nuts 28 engage a fixed bridge 30, to eject the castings from the mould cavities 39. The vents are arranged at the higher side of the cavities.
