Abstract

379,504. Friction clutches. DEHN, F. B., 103, Kingsway, London.-(Borg & Beck Co. ; 6558, South Menard Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A.) Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23567. [Class 80 (ii).] A clutch plate comprises a disc 6 divided into a plurality of sectors 8 by slots 9, 10, the side margins 11 of the sectors being bent out of the plane of the disc on one side thereof. A friction ring 14 is secured, as by rivets 15, to the central unbent part of each sector and a friction ring 18 is secured to the other side of the disc 6 by rivets 19 which pass through the ring 18 and through tongues 16 bent up from the disc 6. A hub 7 for the latter has side plates 21 and filler plates 23, which may be loose, the disc 6 and plates 21, 23 having openings 24 accommodating springs 25 which form cushions between the disc 6 and the hub 7 to absorb and prevent the transmission of vibrations.
