460,340. Friction clutches. BORG & BECK CO., Ltd. Feb. 11, 1936, No. 4160. Convention date, Feb. 11, 1935. [Class 80 (ii)] A clutch plate comprises a disc 8 having radially-projecting tongues 12 spaced around its periphery, a friction facing 14 on one side of the disc secured to alternate tongues by rivets 15, a friction facing 16 on the other side of the disc secured to the other tongues by rivets 17, and cushioning members in the form of bowed spring plates 18 arranged in the spaces between the tongues, alternate plates being riveted at their centre to one of the facings while the other plates are riveted at their centre to the other facing. Alternate tongues may be offset from the plane of the disc, or adjacent tongues may be offset on opposite sides of the disc.
