Abstract

377,508. Friction pivots for casements &c. WALLIS, H. B., Highgate Works, Milk Street, Birmingham. Oct. 17, 1931, No. 28890. [Class 65 (ii).] A friction pivot for a casement window or the like comprises a circular flange 13 on the inner member 7 of the pivot which is adapted to be clamped by a friction band 12 which is fixed at 14 to the outer member or casing 1 and is tightened by a screw 17 which passes through a lug 5 on the casing 1. The member 1 is attached to the window frame 2 by screws 3, 6 and has a pivot pin 10 which bears in a hole in the member 7. If the glass is removed from the window sash and the screws 3, 6, 9 undone, the pivot may be withdrawn by turning to the position shown dotted in Fig. 1, and then moving it downwardly and outwardly.
