Abstract
376,615. Aerials. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Nov. 18, 1931, No. 32045. Convention date, Nov. 18, 1930. [Class 40 (v).] In order to match the impedance of a feed-line with the aerial impedance over a range of wave-lengths, the feed-line is of fixed length whilst the length of the aerial A is adjusted so as to maintain a constant ratio of aerial length to wave-length, and so that the radiation-resistance is always equal to the surge impedance of the feeder. The feeder preferably consists of two concentric tubes having a surge impedance of 35 ohms for a quarter-wave aerial, Fig. 1, and 70 ohms for a half-wave aerial, Fig. 2. In the latter case the feeder may comprise two conductors spaced slightly apart, or two concentric cables with the outer coverings connected together and earthed.
