Abstract

376,395. Loud-speakers combined with projection screens. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, LUCAS, G. S. C., 75, Eastlands Road, and COCKE, K. J. R., 46, Dale Street, both in Rugby. April 18, 1931, No. 11559. [Class 40 (iv).] A kinematograph screen is combined with a loud-speaker by attaching the screen, consisting of a sheet of material pervious to sound, to the outer ends of supporting members, the other ends of which are secured to the loud-speaker. In the combination shown, a fabric sheet 5. constituting the projection screen, is attached, by means of spring hooks 6 engaging loops at the corners of the screen, to strips 4 radiating outwardly from the corners of the baffle-board 3 of a loud-speaker 2. The members 4 may be readily detached from the baffle, and the whole equipment, including the supporting tripod 1, may be packed into a small space. The screen supports may be attached to loud-speakers in other ways, e.g. to lugs at the mouth of a horn.
