Abstract

376,192. Decorticating and stripping fibrous stalks. TEBYRICA, I. W., 1330, Caixa Postal, San Paulo, Brazil. Jan. 21, 1932, No. 1906. Convention date, Aug. 11, 1931. Addition to 358,234. [Class 120 (i).] The apparatus described in the parent Specification is modified in that one of the rollers, as shown, the lower roller C<2>, Fig. 1, is belt driven, e.g. from an internal-combustion engine M, the roller C<2> driving by a crossed belt 2 an auxiliarv shaft E which in turn drives the upper roller C<1> by belts 4. The roller shafts and the shaft E are provided with antifriction bearings and the top roller is pressed downwardly by levers 9 weighted at P, Fig. 3, acting through rods 8 on the bearings 7. The stalks are fed to the rollers C<1>, C2 from a hopper m which carries the stripping plate d and is formed with a hole 11 for discharge of the stalk refuse. A member b hinged upwardly at its end is provided to receive the stalks while the whole apparatus is mounted on wheels R.
