[Class 79 (v).] Comprises means for steering trolleys and heavy vehicles in which front and rear centrallypivoted axles are so connected together that the front axle turns through a greater angle than the rear axle, and preferably through twice as great an angle, either in the same or the opposite direction. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the vehicle platform 1 is carried by rubbing plates 5, 6 on turntables 15, 13 of front and rear axles 26, 27. The front turntable is formed with teeth 7 gearing with a wheel 8 carrying a smaller wheel 9 of half the size, the wheel 9 gearing with a pivoted sector 10 connected by links 12 to the rear turntable 13. Thus when the front axle turns through 90‹ clockwise the rear axle turns through 43‹ counterclockwise. In a modification the axles are made to turn in the same direction, either by inserting an idle wheel between the gears 9, 10 or by omitting the gears 8, 9 and making a larger sector 10 gear direct with the teeth 7. In the construction shown in Fig. 9 rings 23, 24 on the front and rear turntables are connected together by two ropes or chains 25, which may be crossed as shown or straight, each rope being secured to the front turntable and adjustably connected at 28 to the rear turntable. In both constructions the ratio of the turning angles of the two axles may be varied by altering the gear ratio or by varying the sizes of the rings 23, 24.
