Abstract
396,298. Road vehicles. WELGER, GEB., 9, Goslarschestrasse, Wolfenb³ttel, Brunswick, Germany. Jan. 18, 1933, No. 1718. Convention date, March 12, 1932. [Class 108 (i).] General utility carts or lorries of metal construction are provided with stanchions, the alteration of position of which varies the structural breadth of the vehicle. The stanchions a having unequal arms arranged at an angle to one another are inserted into sockets c on the vehicle floor b to vary the loading capacity of the vehicle according to which ends of the stanchions are inserted as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The sockets may be replaced by eyes &c. and the arms of the stanchions may be reinforced by gussets h, the sides d being secured to the stanchions and reinforced in suitable manner as indicated in Fig. 4. The sides d attached to the two arms of the stanchions may be pivoted to one another. In a modification, straight stanchions may be provided and adapted to be inserted in any one of a number of angled sockets.
