Abstract
374,574. Stop valves. BRADLEY, J. W., 20, Waverley Avenue, Warmsworth Road, Doncaster. April 17, 1931, No. 11357. [Class 135.] Casings ; making valves.-In steam valves of the kind having sheet metal body shells enclosing solid block interior working parts, a stainless steel or other non-corrosive sheet metal central receiver cylinder A, Fig. 1, and transverse connection members B are utilized to support or carry an apertured seating block G and valve cover, and block linings B<1>, to form a complete valve body or casing. The seating block is supported above and below by apertured sheet metal tubular parts C, C<1>, the former engaging a groove J in the cover part. The sheet metal shell members may be formed in halves autogeneously welded together, or secured together by screw or other mechanical means. Fig. 10 shows the two parts B, B<1> of a body shell arranged for welding, the end flanges being formed by flanged sheet metal parts, as shown, with a filling N of any suitable synthetic or natural material.
