Abstract

263,436. Bock, M. Aug. 23, 1926. Metal pipes.-Rigid iron, lead, or other metal water pipes, gas pipes, &c. are lined by inserting a tube of soft unvulcanized or slightly vulcanized rubber which lies against the inside of the wall. The inner wall of the metal pipe and the outer wall of the rubber tube may be coated with paraffin &c., and the rubber tube caused to adhere by introducing warm air. In the case of lead pipes, the pipe may be extruded from a press k over a mandrel s, the end of the rubber lining tube c being secured to a stop a on the mandrel so that the lead pipe is forced over the rubber lining.
