Abstract

Hose and flexible pipes. - An additional outer armouring of strip material e is wound between the coils of the usual outer armouring b of a hose or like pipe of the kind in which the hose proper a is provided with inter-coiled inner and outer armourings b, c. The strip e, which is preferably of non-oxidizing metal, but may be of raw hide or vulcanized fibre, is curved concavely to fit around and to protect the corrugations formed in the hose by the inner armouring. Fig. 2 shows an alternative section of the strip.
