Packing, non- metallic. - Packing, which is especially applicable for air and vacuum brakes, comprises an indiarubber ring 1 of channel section between the flanges of which a metal ring 3 is clamped to form a chamber into which air is forced through a valve 4. Alternatively air may be forced into a chamber 10, Fig. 3, formed in the wall of the packing.
