Abstract

303,590. Mitton, E. J., and Chadderton, E. Oct. 19, 1927. Valves. - Stop valve bodies are formed in two or more longitudinal sections by forging or stamping and the sections are subsequently welded together, the body having separately formed encircling flanges secured thereto by welding. In one construction the valve body is formed in halves, the abutting edges 3 being bevelled or otherwise shaped to form a groove to receive the welding material 4. The flanges are formed as separate rings 5 bevelled or cut away internally at 6 to provide a larger surface for the welding material.
