Abstract
374,227. Pipe joints. MœLLER AKT.- GES., C. H. F., F³hlsb³ttelerdamm, Fuhlsb³ttel, Hamburg, Germany. May 7, 1931, No. 13543. Convention date, May 10, 1930. [Class 99 (i).] Cooling medium is supplied to an electrode 1 of an electric discharge tube, e.g. a R÷ntgen-ray tube, through a pipe which is resiliently and rotatably connected in a watertight manner to the electrode through a metallic member 4. The member 4 is connected to a tube 6 through a corrugated pipe 5 and is pressed by means of a spring 8 against packing 3 abutting the electrode. The spring is secured between a ring 10 and a ball-bearing 9, one member of which is screwed to the member 4. The ring 10 is screwed into a cap 11 which is secured to the electrode through a threaded ring 2. A pipe 7 secured to the member 4 registers the latter with respect to the electrode. The cooling medium is supplied through engaging pipes 12, 13 and is discharged through the annular space formed by the tubes 6, 12. A bushing 14 on the tube 13 is fused to the pipe 7 through radial cross-pieces.
