Abstract

373,754. Chairs. WYATT, W. H., Richardson Street, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. May 4, 1931, No. 13173. [Class 52 (ii).] A chair, of the kind in which a rigid seat 10 serves also as a bracing member for the me structure, has as a support for the back of the seat and as a brace for the middle parts of the back legs 2, a metal bar 1, of angle T, U, or like section, secured with one web lying against the fronts of the back legs and another web supporting the seat. The seat may be secured to the bar 1 by screws passing through its vertical web, and some of the screw holes 9<1> may be elongated to avoid strains due to distortion of the seat. Extensions 51 of one or more webs may be turned against the sides of the back legs and/or seat to provide additional support.
