School desks; desk frames; foot-board attachments.-A school desk comprises frame members which are made from bar metal and include an L-shaped portion, the upright stem of which supports the seat, and an inverted U-shaped portion which stands on the base of the L-shaped portion and provides a support for the desk. The metal bar may be of angle or T-section and the frames may be built up of lengths or may be formed with the seat support 1, base 2, and inverted U-shaped desk support 3, 4, 5 in one piece by bending the bar, the flanges being cut away to form neat joints at the corners 9. When angle section bar is used, the flanges are also cut away at the joints to form a flush surface on the outside of the frame. Corner stays 11, 13 may be provided for strengthening the structure, and a foot-board 19 may be carried on the stays 13. The seat 21 is supported by a hinged bracket 16, 17 bolted to the uprights 1, the ends of which are slightly bent and tapered to provide a seating for the back rest 18.
