Abstract
418,234. Folding chairs. VAUGHAN, E., Field House, Clent, near Stourbridge, Worcestershire. May 20, 1933, No. 14610. [Class 52 (ii).] In a folding chair, particularly of the type in which an X-frame a, b is adapted to support a rigid seat c, the seat frame is reinforced from beneath by means of a metal frame d of angle section housed in a recessed under part of the seat. The upper ends of the frame a abut against the metal frame d when the chair is in open position, and pivoted links f connect the frame a to the metal frame d. The frame b forming the back of the chair and the front legs is pivoted to the frame d by means of a rod or tube e. The seat may consist of a ply-wood panel let into a wooden frame c<1>, and may be upholstered.
