Abstract
372,194. Moving signs. ROUX, A., 2, Rue de Clichy, Paris. Aug. 14, 1931, No. 23006. Convention date, Oct. 22, 1930. [Class 3 (i).] A non-endless display band J wound on and off two drums A, U is viewed by transmitted light reflected from above by a mirror Q. The mechanism for automatically reversing the direction of motion of the band J comprises two jockey rollers S, S<1> one or the other of which is brought against a belt B by which power is conveyed from a motor G to the drums A, U. The belts B drive the drums in opposite directions, only that one which is tautened by pressure against it of its roller S or S<1> being at any moment effective. The drums A, U have recesses I into which rolls V, V<1> at the ends of spring-pressed levers L enter when the band J which has covered them becomes unwound. The end of the recess I coming against the roll V, V<1> forces the levers L, together with their link N, laterally, thus by a fork T rocking an arm M carrying the rollers S, S<1> to the right or the left. Registering apertures O hold the arm M in position. The band J is wound on the drum U more quickly than on the drum A.
