366,165. Sheet-delivery apparatus. WICHMANN, R. E. L., Kemnal Wood, Chislehurst, Kent. Nov. 11, 1930, No. 33967. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1929. [Class 100 (i).] In sheet-delivery. apparatus for printing or other machines in which grippers 7 on oscillating levers 6 take the sheets from endless gripperchains 1 and deposit them on a pile 5 against a stop 4, the levers 6 are driven by a crank action 9, 10 arranged to accelerate the grippers 7 rapidly up to the speed of the chain grippers in order to receive the sheet and then retard them over a longer period to deposit the sheet on the pile 5. 'The grippers 7 are mounted on a two-armed lever 8 pivoted at 15 to the levers 6. A roller 16 on one end of the lever 8 runs in a guideway 18 pivoted at 19 and oscillated from a cam 27 on a shaft 28 through mechanism 21, 23, 25 so that the points of the grippers 7 move along the path c, d as the levers 6 move away from the chains 1 and at the end of such movement the points of the grippers are lifted so as to clear the pile on the reverse movement.
