[Class 100 (i)] A web-roll braking device for a printing or other machine comprises an endless driven belt engaging the roll surface and passing round a number of pulleys, one only of which is movable bodily to vary the wrap of the belt round the roll, and a member movable in response to variations of the web tension for causing corresponding movement of the pulley to restore the web tension to normal. The construction described is identical with that described in Specification 453,046.
