Abstract

372,166. Making paper bags &c. STRACHAN & HENSHAW, Ltd., Whitehall Iron Works, Whitehall, Bristol.-(Goder, Kommandit-Ges., H. ; 35, Krefelderstrasse, Neuss-on-Rhine, Germany.) July 16, 1931, No. 20430. [Class 94 (ii).] The blank p is sucked by the suction roller a through suction rollers a, b until it abuts against an adjustable stop. The roll r a then ceases to suck and the roller b is put under suction, thereby drawing the curved blank between itself and the folding roller engaging therewith. The blank is thus folded, the line of fold forming the leading edge. This operation is repeated upon the blank, e.g. that shown in Fig. 3, the fold s being first formed, and the flaps t, u being afterwards turned in by refeeding between the suction system, a, b, to complete the bag.
