Abstract
371,387. Rolling. VEREINIGTE STAHLWERKE AKT.-GES., 67, Breitestrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Jan. 16, 1931, No. 1569. Convention date, May 26, 1930. [Class 83 (iv).] The pass of a pilgering rolling mill is made elliptical in radial section, with the major axis perpendicular to the roll axis, in order that the pass at the plane of rolling A1, A2 parallel to the line of centres O1, 02 may be truly circular, the design of the rolls being such that a length A2<1> is somewhat larger than a length A1-2<1>. The ellipticity may decrease along the working portion I until the radial section is circular throughout the polishing portion II.
