Abstract

343,996. Rolling tubes ; mandrels. KOCKS, F., 93, Schlesischestrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Oct. 29, 1929, No. 32873. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 8, 1930.] [Class 83 (iv).] Skew rolling mills for expanding tubes &c. have mandrels i with only a slight taper and rolls P arranged at an angle of less than 25‹ to the axis of the work h. This prevents lengthening of the tube and allows the rolls to be supported in bearings f, g at both ends and to be easily driven. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the rolls may be arranged at an angle of 30‹ to the work axis and refers to Specification 308,783, [Class 83 (iv), Metals, Working]. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
