Abstract
371,138. Lubricating internal - combustion engines. BORG & BECK CO., Ltd. and BROCK, D. T., Brook House, Langham Street, London. March 24, 1931, No. 9038. [Class 12 (iii).] The air supply to the carburetter of a motor vehicle engine is taken from the clutch casing 11 so that the clutch is cooled by a continuous supply of air entering the casing through a filter 19. For clutches-running in oil, traps are arranged in the air outlet, and the carburetter air supply carries oil vapour which effects upper lubrication of the engine cylinders. The outlet 20 of the casing communicates with the carburetter or carburetters through a.pipe or through a chamber secured to the crank case. The Provisional Specification states also that this communication may be through a passage formed in the crank case wall entering the clutch casing tangentially.
