Abstract

368,096. Diving rafts. BUCK, R. and BUCK & SONS, Ltd., E. R., 2, London Road, Manchester. April 1, 1931, No. 9820. [Class 113 (ii).] A diving raft comprises an inflated body 1, Fig. 1, having a dome-like or rising upper part provided with foot-holds 3, means being provided to prevent or limit tilting. The said means may be for example (1) an inflated ring 10, Fig. 1, surrounding the body 1, (2) a similarly placed ring filled with water, (3) a series of pockets 14, 15, 16, Fig. 7, attached to the bottom of the vessel and filled with sand &c., or (4) a framework 22, 23, Fig. 9, carrying a weight 24 and optionally attached to anchoring means 27. Alternatively, stability may be obtained by suitable conformation of the inflated body. The foot-holds 3 may extend either completely or partially around the raft, and a rope ring 8 with dependent pieces 9 may be provided to assist climbing-
