Abstract

316,554. Krell, O. July 30, 1928, [Convention date]. Buoys.-An apparatus for mooring airships on water consists of a fixed buoy B in which means are provided for engaging a ball C carried at the end of a mooring foot mounted under the cabin of the airship. The buoy B may be suspended by springs f within an annular float F which serves to carry personnel, recharging apparatus and the like. The buoyancy of the buoy B may be varied by pumping water into or out of it to counterbalance the lift of the airship. According to a modification the float F may be omitted and the buoy moored by three chains arranged at angles of 120‹ to each other.
