Abstract

The cabin is attached to a powered craft which has a hollow well in the centre. The submersible cabin (9) fits into the well when it is the surface and forms an integral part of the powered craft. The submersible cabin is suspended from the craft by cables (22) and (23). The cables are connected to winches so that the cabin may be lowered to the sea bed. The cabin is supplied with ballast weights which may be jettisoned to bring the cabin back to the surface. The cabin is supplied with air through the supply pipe (24), and has a glass roof to give good all round viewing.
