Abstract

225,697. Couty, L. T. Nov. 20, 1923. Self-levelling apparatus; gun platforms.-Sets of self-levelling compartments mounted in sunk platforms on the decks of vessels and serving either as gun platform or as cabins to prevent sea-sickness, are interconnected by a framework of metal bars so that the compartments, when they float off from the vessel in the event of shipwreck, are all maintained in a substantially vertical position. A set of four compartments F with hemispherical ends working in cup-shaped hollows in the deck are interconnected by pairs of links 5, 6 extending from supports 2, 3 carried by the upper part of the compartment. The compartments are further connected by links 4 carried by supports 1 also mounted on the upper part of the compartment.
