Abstract

373,045. Diving-apparatus. DAVIS, R. H., 187, Westminster Bridge Road, London. Oct. 22, 1931, No. 29398. [Class 68 (ii).] In diver's apparatus of the kind comprising a submersible decompression chamber in combination with a surface decompression chamber fitted, for example, on the deck of a ship, a series of surface decompression chambers communicating with one another is provided. The chamber 7, which is of the kind described in Specification 294,749, [Class 68 (ii), Subaqueous buildings &c.], has in its bottom end a manhole door opening inwardly. The chamber is coupled to the surface decompression chamber 4 by screws 9 attached to a ring 13 in which is fitted a manhole door opening inwards. By means of these doors the occupants of the submersible chamber 7 enter the central compartment 1 of the chamber 4, and eventually pass into the chambers 2, 3 to complete the decompression and emerge into the open air; doors 21, 22, 23 are provided for these purposes.
